The Tower
Element: Fire
Upright Meaning
A sudden, unavoidable disruption is clearing the way for truth. The Tower arrives when structures built on false foundations can no longer stand. This may feel catastrophic — but what falls needed to fall. What remains is the real, solid foundation on which something better can be built.
Reversed Meaning
Narrowly avoided disaster, or the prolonged fear of a necessary collapse. The upheaval may be internal rather than external, or delayed but still coming.
Symbolism & Story
A tower on a rocky crag is struck by lightning. Two figures fall from its windows — a king and a commoner, equal in their fall. The crown is knocked from the tower's top. Dark clouds surround it. But look carefully: the figures fall with their arms spread, almost like wings. The Tower does not kill the people. It frees them from a prison they had mistaken for a palace.

Upright
A sudden upheaval or revelation shakes the relationship — a breakup, a shocking truth, or the collapse of an illusion. Though painful, what falls was built on a false foundation. The truth, once out, clears the way for something real.
Reversed
Reversed, a narrowly avoided breakup, or fear of an impending shake-up. You may be delaying a collapse that needs to happen, or rebuilding slowly after one. The disruption may be internal.
